In this episode, we meetup with two couples who are at different stages of their entrepreneurial lives. One couple (Richard and Dana) run a popup BBQ and cupcake stand and are in the early stages of entrepreneurship. The other couple (Shannel and Anwar) are growing rapidly and in the midst of experiencing huge growth. In this conversation we explore what it takes to bring an idea to life, how they knew when it was time to take it seriously and the power of debt freedom in helping them take their family businesses to the next level.

Meet our guests
Dana and Richard Washington are the married co-owners of Keebler's Kitchen, an Atlanta based popup BBQ and cupcake stand. While Dana stays at home with their two boys and manages all of the baking, Richard works as an engineer by day while handling the barbecue at night and weekends. Despite the pandemic, the couple got creative to help their business grow and have made strides in taking it to the next level.
Shannel and Anwar Aiken are the married co-owners of Grand Event Design based out of Tuscaloosa, AL. Shannel took lead in their business, starting out as a wedding planner, before re-focusing her attention on broader events. Meanwhile, Anwar kept his job in the rail industry and in personal development. But recently, due to the event businesses growth, Anwar and Shannel are focused on taking their business to the next level as a team.
